Penny L. Ottley has been interested in art and all the arts since childhood. She began oil painting in 1994 and she has also dabbled in watercolor for a few years, but truly finds her passion in oils.

Her favorite passion is portrait painting. She says it emotionally moves her to see it come alive. A portrait has special meaning to someone in their life. The technique Penny paints was created by the masters. Creating an understudy with acrylic paint for a fast dry of light to dark values, applying transparent glaze followed by opaque color for a finish moving the colors to flow together.

Penny paints from photos called "photo impression realism." For many years she has painted for family and is now ready to share her passion with you. Penny believes artists should concentrate on quality, not quantity.
