Rita is a graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara.

Her work is housed at the Museum of Photographic Art in San Diego.

Originally born in Ontario, Canada, Rita has lived in Southern California since the age of 12. Her travels have taken her to Austria, Germany, France, Holland, Romania, China, Tibet, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan, in addition to various parts of the US and Canada.

Prior to Brooks, she spent 4 years in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman - a portion of that time involved in Medical Photography. From that point forward, her photographic creativity has continued to evolve, leading her on rewarding adventures, while seeing life through a striking, unique, and unconventional perspective.

Marriage to Bill & mom to Emma brought about an awareness of the limitations relating to travel, prompting Rita into a world of untapped, more local creativity. “I began to recognize that it wasn’t my environment confining me, it was me confining myself!“ Her current area of fascination is the Salton Sea in California’s Imperial Valley. I’m fortunate that my Two-way arrows have become a source of intrigue in relationship to the nature behind where they stand, in addition to arrows in general.

The gift of creative expression has given Rita a unique perspective and the ability to interpret life juxtaposed with the natural environment or one created around man.
